Our trip to L&D

So Tuesday January 22nd I was having some slight pains in my lower left back/lower left abdomen. I tried to pass it off as gas pains the night before, but thought it was odd it came back again. I figured it probably wasn't a big deal until I went pee. I was almost positive there was blood in my pee, but I asked Austin & he said it was probably just dark and I needed to drink water. So I drank water & peed again and this time was CLEARLY bloody. So I semi freaked out (blood coming from there while pregnant is just about the worst thing ever) and we headed off to the hospital. The coolest thing about being prego is you don't have to go to the ER, you get to go straight to Labor and delivery (if you are over 20 weeks) So we went up there and told them what was up. I peed in a cup and again, it was bloody. So they put us in a room (A delivery room!) & hooked my belly up to the moniters to moniter baby & if I was contracting. Luckily I was not contracting & baby was just perfect. He kept kicking the moniter and muffling the sound- it was too cute! They came back in and said no infection in my urine which ruled out a UTI which means one thing & the nurse was quite sure its a kidney stone! :( I've had about 4 & they are the furthest thing from pleasent. They are so painful so hearing I have one while pregnant is aweful news. She gave me a big jug of water & pain pills and said she'd check on me in 30-40 minutes. I took a pill and drank my water and was comfortable enough to go home. I was a wee bit out of it- pain pills always make me crazy!

Although the experience was scary at first, it was the best hopsital experience I have ever had. The nurses were so nice & they didn't give me an IV or anything! I never even had to see a doctor because the nurses knew exactly what to do. It was so awesome being on that floor & in the delivery room where our baby will be born. The L&D floor and rooms are absolutely amazing. I was so comfortable and we got to watch TV the whole time. I will say though, Austin was SOO nervous being there. I asked him why and I guess it just hit him that thats where we'll be when our little bungaloo comes into the world. Such an amazing thing. We are just so happy that baby boy is perfect and healthy & the kidney stone only affects me. 14 more weeks folks & we'll have our baby boy in our arms! :)

Happy 3rd Birthday!

So yesterday was Carson's 3rd Birthday!! I told him to stop getting any older.. :) He is just so dang cute & lights up my life. I can't imagine a single day without this little silly guy. He cuddles with me on the couch, watches me brush my teeth, sleeps right next to me in bed & is just such a big part of my life. I really never knew I could be so attached or love an animal so much, but he is just so loveable! He does little things like pick up every.single.crumb from a treat & he refuses to let there be pieces of food on the floor- he has OCD just like his momma. He is so well behaved, never has any accidents and knows every command in the book. My personal favorite is he knows how to talk. If you ask him how his day was or if he wants something (outside, treat, or his personal favorite..bye bye) he will talk your ear off! I love that he gets to go to work with me every morning & believe me he loves it too. I know that he will be the BEST big brother ever to baby Cohen when he comes. Happy Birthday to my cute little guy- you are so perfect Carson!!

Do you SEE what I SEE.... 24 weeks!

We got to see little man yesterday & I almost was in tears. He is SOO beautiful. I am in awe of that little guy in my belly. When she first started the ultrasound his leg was all the way up over his face, but luckily he moved and we got to see his face. The pictures do not do him justice. While we were watching him Austin says "Oh my gosh he looks EXACTLY like you!" :) Well it looks like he does, but no telling what he'll look like when he pops out. Either way he'll be just perfect. I absolutely LOVE the picture of his perfect little leg... oh my gosh he is so developed and I swear he's going to have daddy's long legs. I could have watched him for hours. There is nothing better than seeing your baby...nothing!

Speaking of SEEING this last week I experienced another amazing thing. I have been feeling him move around like crazy & the other day he kicked pretty hard so I thought I would try and see if I could SEE him move. WEll I DID!! I saw my belly jump & since then have seen it jump many times. It is the craziest and loveliest thing ever. Today he was bouncing around again and Austin got to see him too! I love it. I love these little milestones and will forever cherish having this amazing experience.

22 Weeks & Happy 2013!!

Baby Cohen is ONE WHOLE POUND! At least thats what all the baby books say, but all babies are different so he could be a little bigger or a little smaller. Either way he is just perfect.

For New Years Eve we spent the day running errands and getting new tires for our new car...score! We definitely needed those. The night was really rainy and foggy which is not good for New Years Eve and crazy drivers so we went to dinner & then stayed home and off the roads. We watched the ball drop & then I was so tired I had to go to bed. At least I made it until midnight though! So excited for 2013 and all the wonderful things it has to bring. We get to prepare for baby completely & then bring him into the world.

The Name Game!

Before we knew what we were having we had names picked out for either sex. The girl middle name was still giving us a little trouble, but the boy was set! The name was going to be Christopher after Austins friend who died in a car accident when he was 16. Austin told me that would be his sons name before we ever got married or talked about children. Of course I let him have the name because it was so special to him and it's his first son. However, I always liked Christopher better as a middle name because it's rather common... not unique & such a long name! I mentioned a few names that he liked but Christopher was it!!

Well....

One night (a few nights before Christmas) we were on the couch watching TV & he just started laughing looking at his phone. So I said... uh? Whats so funny? He said oh I just did this name your phone thing on facebook. Hmm ok. Then he convinced me to do it & I NEVER do stuff like that so I said no, but he insisted. So I did it and the name of my phone was Naomi Cohen. When I said it out loud we looked at eachother and he was like Oh... I really like the name Cohen! I said I did too & it's so cute! So he said Christopher Cohen.... NO! I did not like it. I did not want a random middle name, the middle name had to be after someone special. So I said how about Cohen Christopher? He thought about it and said.. I think I like that! So I swear it was a "moment" & am now a firm believer that any special names you have picked out you might as well throw out the window because their name will come to them one way or another.

Pregnancy Pros

Well obviously pregnancy can be REALLY difficult and we all are aware of that (if you've been through it) However, there are also so many beautiful things about it!

The ability to house & grow a human in my body is definitely the number one best part of being pregnant & the fact that he is a little piece of me and Austin is just out of this world phenominal. We made him!

I love feeling him move around, how incredible that I can feel my little baby dancing and bouncing around!

I love hearing his heart beat- again incredible that there is another little heart beating inside of me.

I absolutely love when Austin kisses & talks to our baby (my belly) I know he already loves him so much & it's so dang cute. He will be the best daddy!

Getting to see him on the ultrasound is another favorite, how crazy how much he develops and changes between each time we get to see him. Again, I'm making that little bean! I love it.

Actually being excited to gain weight is a first... I don't mind it :)

Not having a period is also great! No cramps or extreme moodiness.

Sometimes hormones aren't too bad either... ;)

I love watching my belly grown & I love my bump! It's still pretty small, but it's still fun :)

I love that it makes me feel even closer to Austin than I already did, he gave me the best gift of all & fufilled my dreams by giving me our son. I could not be happier with him :)

I am so excited to have our little guy here, minus all the labor fears, but I know I need to take advantage of being pregnant and having our baby boy growing and dancing around inside of me. It truly is a gift that I will never take for grantid!!
